Going to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (And Friends apartment)

Wednesday December 21, 2011 was one of the best days ever because it was my first time going to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon!!! It was awesome and I will def be going again soon (well not soon, stupid 6 months rule).

A month before the show my mom called up and tried to reserve tickets for a Friday cause that is when Jimmy does Thank You notes but every Friday was booked so we ended up with Weds the 21st. We found out the guests were gonna be Louie CK, Paula Patton, and Aretha Franklin (I'll tell you about that later). We were pretty disappointed cause we had no clue who they were. The day before was Tom Cruise! And the day after was Jeff Musial who is AWESOME!!!

Anyways, on Weds morning my mom and I got the train in New Haven at 7:30ish and we got to Grand Central at around 10ish. The taping was at 5:30 so we made time to go to the friends apartment on Bedford Street. I always wanted to go there so since it was just my mom and I we decided to go. (My dad and brother aren't the touristy types). The night before I got directions (walking of course, who has the money to pay for a taxi?) It took us about 45 minutes from Grand Central to walk there. When I saw it I got goosebumps!! I've seen it on tv all these years and now I was standing right in front of it!! It had to be in the quietest place in NYC! I stood in the middle of the road for the pics and not a car passed! After taking fifty million pictures infont of the Friends apartment we walked to Rockefellar Plaza. We did what our email conformation told us and went to the MSNBC cafe around 2:15.

We sat there for ever!!!!! Randomly a lady and her entourage came up to us and asked if we had Jimmy Fallon tickets and was happy that they weren't the only ones. She said this was her third time going to LNJF so we thought she would know every procedure, burt no.....she was sooooo clueless!! Gradually a crowd started to form and right around 3:00 p.m. a guy who looked like he worked for the CIA came and told everyone to line up and to have their conformations out. He said that the seats were already determined by the computer so people wouldn't trample each other to get in line but my mom and I (and that lady) decided that he was a liar. We got tickets with a number on them and a wristband and were told to meet at the 49th street entrance at 4:30.

After multiple trips to the bathroom to put cover  up on (hey I could be on tv!) we went to the meeting place and were told that if you had a number on your ticket to go to one side and if you had a letter on your ticket to go to the other side. We had a five so we lined up according to our numbers. The famous NBC pages were crazy trying to get everyone to line up in the right order. We stood in line for more than 15 minutes sweating like crazy(my hair was getting all frizzy, not a goods look for tv!) So after fifteen minutes the letter line was taken into the studio. We were pretty pissed cause our numbers didn't mean anything apparently!

When we got to the studio entrance an NBC page asked us how many we had in our group and we were directed the next seats that were opened.....SO THE SEATING WASN'T PREDETERMINED!! We did get good seats though! Shortly after everyone was seated a comedian came out to warm up the audience. He was really funny! He asked if anyone was from somewere far away and and made fun of them. Then the show started and Jimmy did what he does best!! Louie CK was really funny and Paula Pattan was so full of energy! Aretha Franklin wasn't there so that was a bummer (they showed a previous performance of hers). They did a Christmas caroling bit which was hilarious!!! They had to do it 2 times due to the sound being off. Jimmy gave out another 12 days of Christmas sweater and the guy who won was right near me!! I was in the shot the whole time!!!!! Heres's a pic!!

Yup me laughing my ass off
